So I was driving the scenic route from Palm Desert to Temecula, California. It was a calming diversion from the hectic freeways through greening pastures, dairies, and serene agriculture.
I had my little Fujifilm Mirrorless XT-2 Camera with me and I was hoping to capture some floral beauty along the way. As soon as I headed out on Highway-79, I came upon some early Spring farmland and grazing cows. So I stopped to capture this blissful scenery. A few minutes later, after driving around a large bend in the road, I discovered my favorite scene. I happen to love trees and I'm drawn to scenes where there is a giant tree gracing the landscape.
My favorite scene was this lone tree in multicolored grassland with a beautiful mountain and clouds in the background. I would love to just sit under this tree and read or paint with watercolors for a few hours. Quiet times are the norm in places like this one.
So I decided to create a myPhotoWalk Photo Artistry image to remind us all of the great value of quietness in our lives.
Isaiah 30:15 encourages this quietness. "In quietness and trust is your strength." Oh, what a promise that is to help us understand how much we need quiet time with the Lord in our lives.
I processed this image using one of my favorite pieces of software, Alien Skin Exposure X3. I also used Topaz Adjust to bring out more of the dynamic range. Then I chose "Quietness" as my main Helvetica Neue poster word to think about, along with the phrase "In quietness and trust is your strength" from Isaiah 30:15 NIV. Voila!
So dear friend, it is my prayer that this image will remind us how much we need moments of quietness with our Lord in our life.
Lord, today we pray for times of quietness in the midst of busy lives so that we may walk and talk with You more. In Jesus' name, Amen.
