Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.

When others came near Jesus and looked into His face, how do you think Jesus looked at them in return? Was it with a stern, angry, demanding response? In His eyes, others saw God's overwhelming love and compassion, and it was more than they could imagine. It surprised them. And it blessed them. That is what happens when you turn to God and draw near to Him in devotion. You discover that He is a God of compassion and that He will not cast you away. That is why the Lord invites you to "cast all your anxiety on him because He cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7). In the final summary of life, God will be the source of satisfaction in the depths of your heart. He is the one Who lasts forever, even when heaven and earth pass away. Nothing can separate you from His love. That is why His blessings are independent of circumstances. You can still experience Him even in the darkest of nights.
