I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
Psalm 27:13 NKJV
The heart of God's pilgrim is fixed on a place that is not of this world: the kingdom of God. What is this kingdom, and what does it mean to belong to God's kingdom? Understanding the place where you belong will help you to find your home more and more in God and less and less in this world. It will not be so strange to be an alien to the things of this world when your gaze is filled with a far greater kingdom, one that lasts forever. Knowledge of the kingdom of God and the assurance of your place there will fuel your hope in this life. That hope is the ability to wait with a smile for God to carry out His promises. Hope is one of the great marks of a pilgrim of God. And it is, as God's Word says in Hebrews 6:19, the anchor for your soul.
