There is a bright shining hope for every desert experience. You can meet God in the desert. In fact, He is more easily seen in desert experiences than the brightness of happier, easy times.
When Moses was out in the far side of the desert, he had momentous meetings with God —
The Lord used to speak to Moses face to face, just as a man speaks to his friend.
Exodus 33:11
Moses was so inspired by his times with God that he prayed great and mighty prayers. His greatest prayer was "I pray You, show me Your glory" (Exodus 33:18). The Lord responded by giving Moses what he asked — a new and glorious view of Himself.
So today if you are in the desert, take courage, and draw near to God. Speak with Him just as you would a friend. And when you meet with Him, get ready for an awesome new view of your God.
Dear Lord, I want to meet with You here in the desert. Show me a new, glorious view of You, my great and glorious God. In Jesus' name, Amen.
