Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them will be like a sensible man who built his house on the rock. The rain fell, the rivers rose, and the winds blew and pounded that house. Yet it didn't collapse, because its foundation was on the rock.

What do you look at in life? The wind or the Word of God? That's really what it comes down to when you are journeying through the circumstances of life. The wind may blow or it may be calm. We are tempted either way to take our eyes away from God and the promises in His Word and look intently at the circumstances and focus on the temporal. Instead, our gaze must turn to the eternal truth found in God's Word. In His Word we realize the greatness and glory of God, and the opportunity to experience His power and presence in our lives.
