Sometimes I will look at an image I've captured and it will seem to tell a story, inspiring me to do something special with it to share and encourage others.
In the case of this flower, I immediately thought of growth. So I decided to create a piece of art that encourages us all to grow in grace as 2 Peter 3:18 encourages us to do throughout our life.
I captured this image of a flower on an early morning walk and just loved how the bloom emerges so beautifully out of the greenery.
For this image, after processing in Adobe Camera Raw, I decided to emphasize the edges of the flower. So I brought the image into Topaz glow, a filter that puts a glowing definition to all the edges of elements in the composition. Once back in Photoshop, I reduced the opacity so that it only has a hint of that glow in it. Then, I applied a Topaz Impression Colored Pencil filter at 48% opacity. I like that filter for this image because all the lines give an earthy, organic feel to it, contributing to my whole theme of growth. Finally, I took the image into On1 Software and added a bit of depth and contrast to the overall appearance and finished it off with a slight vignette.
I added the text of "grow in grace" with a modern font, Helvetica Neue, and the verse, 2 Peter 3:18, to encourage others with God's Word.
May we all be encouraged to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord as we live for Him, moment by moment, in this journey of life.
Lord, today we thank You for Your grace. May we continue to grow in Your grace and in the knowledge of You each and every day. In Jesus' name, Amen.
