Have you ever felt you had no answers for your current situation? Has your life hit a wall and you are stopped in your tracks?
The people of Israel must have felt that way many times in their journey with the Lord. And yet, in the midst of those times, they watched God do amazing things like part the Red Sea, provide manna in the wilderness, and kill the giant Goliath.
Isaiah has some great words of wisdom whenever you find yourself in such a challenging place in your own life journey.
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power. Though youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly, yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.
Isaiah 40:28-31
This is such great advice to weary, battle–worn believers — when you are in that place where you don't have an answer, just wait for the Lord. And the verses go on to say why. Because God is going to do something. He has a plan. He is the God who makes things happen. He will give you new strength, enough to walk in His ways and not be weary. I would go on to say that a study of God's Word shows that God is your help, your strength, your Shepherd, the God of deliverances, and oh, so much more. I like to describe Him as the God who makes things happen. Because when you read the Word you come face to face with a God who carries out His plan and fulfills His promises.
So today, dear friend, wait on your Lord, and watch as He makes things happen in your life.
Dear Lord, thank You for Your promise of strength when I am weary. Give us the ability and wisdom to wait for You and watch as You work in our lives. In Jesus' name, Amen.
