I was in Newport Beach CA capturing images of the beautiful flowers growing among the vineyards at Newport Beach Vineyards. There were so many captivating views that I captured literally hundreds of images. But this is one of my favorites. I loved the expanse of yellow flowers fronting the vines. The first word that came to my mind was "flourish." Oh yes, these flowers are growing, multiplying and flourishing.
This idea of growth and flourishing is a promise from our Lord in Hosea 4:17 where He says, "My people will again live under my shade. They will flourish like grain and blossom like grapevines." Oh I love this promise and the experience of it is possible even now through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. Peter encourages the people of God to "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3:18). You see, it is a Person — the Person of Christ — who makes us flourish from within through His Spirit. I recently heard an interview of Corrie ten Boom about her imprisonment in Ravensbruck Concentration Camp during World War II. She was asked, "What enabled you to make it through?" Corrie immediately replied, "Not what, but Who enabled me to make it through." I thought that was so profound.
In this myPhotoWalk Photo Artistry image, I processed the raw file with Alien Skin Exposure X3 Software. Then I added a dark vignette with ON1 Software. Finally I added the poster title and verse using a stylish Helvetica Neue font at the focal point of the image. I pray this image will be an inspiration for you. Enjoy!
May you be encouraged to draw near to Christ today and flourish in your relationship with Him as you "live under His shade."
Lord, may we continue to flourish and grow in Your grace. In Jesus' name, Amen.
