Have you ever felt as though you are out on a limb with your faith? You're not sure what God is going to do but you are trusting Him.
That's how it is sometimes in our walk with the Lord. We are brought into difficulties where we have done our best, but we still don't have the solution, answers, or provision.
You can trust God, dear friend. He will be true to His word and He is absolutely reliable.
I love this image I captured with my Fujifilm XT-2 camera on an early misty morning myPhotoWalk in Corona del Mar, CA. A little hummingbird is perched at the top of this tall century plant staring at the ocean waves. I missed it at first; the presence of the hummingbird actually surprised me. When I looked more closely through the lens of my camera and remarked to myself, "I think that's a hummingbird." And I was right. So I was thrilled to capture this particular image.
I often feel like this hummingbird when I am out on the limb with my faith. It's what I call a "hope against hope" kind of faith where I am relying on the Lord to act on His promise even though everything is seemingly against it.
Abraham had that kind of faith.
In hope against hope he believed.
Romans 4:18
That's the kind of faith I need, even now in the things I am facing in my own life.
Abraham was a true hero of the faith. He really took God at His Word. And I need to do the same. And you need to also.
What will we need for this to even be possible? Two things: the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. We need to put our faith in all that God says and rely on the Holy Spirit for the strength and the faith to walk with God in our everyday life.
So today, dear friend, may we go out on a limb with our faith and "in hope against hope" believe God in His Word.
Dear Lord, today we choose to believe you even when we are out on a limb with our faith. In Jesus' name, Amen.
