Where do you spend most of your time these days? I want to encourage you today to take a walk with the Lord in the garden of grace. The more time you spend with Him, the more you will know and love Him.
Your time with Him becomes apparent to all because the fragrant aroma of Jesus permeates your heart and soul. People will notice the life of Jesus at work in your life. The confidence of Peter and John became apparent to all and people "were amazed and recognized that they had been with Jesus" (Acts 4:13 CSB).
Paul shared the truth of the matter when he wrote —
But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place. For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.
2 Corinthians 2:14-15 NASB
Oh yes, there is a sweet and fragrant aroma that people will be aware of immediately if you have spent time with Jesus. Peter encourages us to "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3:18). What we see here is that grace is the environment where we grow and we know Christ more and more. Grace is that garden where we walk and live with Jesus Christ. And His grace begins flowing in our spiritual veins impacting who we are and all that we do in life. And people sense it. They know something is different about us. It's all because we've been with Jesus.
Joseph Cooke, in his book, Celebration of Grace, writes —
Grace needs to permeate deeper and deeper and deeper into our minds, attitudes, feelings, relationships, behavior, service for God and others. It needs to go on and on changing us. It needs to become an ever more vital, motivating force in our lives.
Joseph Cooke in Celebration of Grace
So today, dear friend, I encourage you to slow down, step away from the cares of this world, and spend some time alone with the Lord Jesus in the garden of grace. You will be like a beautiful rose, transformed by Him, and emanating the fragrant aroma of Christ all around you.
Lord, thank You for inviting us into the garden of Your grace and king us your fragrant aroma. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Blessings ♡ Grace
