The Secret To Trusting God

A Quiet Time Moment

The Bible is filled with adventure for those who are willing to engage and read what it says. And as the Holy Spirit brings God's Words to life, the Bible becomes a place to discover spiritual secrets. And one of the greatest secrets you will ever learn in God's Word is the secret to trusting God.

I'll never forget the day I discovered this secret. I was reading the Psalms and came to Psalm 9, written by David, the man after God's own heart.

Listen to what David wrote in Psalm 9:10 —

And those who know Your name will put their trust in You.

Psalm 9:10

There it is for all to see. If I know the names of God, I will trust Him. But how many have missed this powerful truth? That's why it is a secret for us to know, learn, and practice in our everyday life.

Once I discovered this truth, I set out on a quest to know God's names. And I have experienced my trust in God growing exponentially as I discover His names, draw near to His names, declare His names, depend on His names, and delight in His names. This quest led to the writing of two books : Trusting In The Names Of God — A 30-Day Journey and Trusting In The Names Of God — A Quiet Time Experience.

I am filled with a great desire to say yes to the words of Proverbs 3:5, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart."

God can do so much in the life of someone who trusts Him. I think about the great Corrie ten Boom. She was a woman who truly trusted God. I believe the Lord could have His way in her life and lead her in unusual and sometimes difficult directions — bringing Him great glory and honor. She trusted Him no matter what. Becoming a person who trusts God is a journey and takes time. You don't get to know God in one hour. No, it takes a lifetime.

So dear friend, today will you resolve to draw near to God and discover who He is, what He does, and what He says?

Lord, help me today to draw near to you, know you more, and trust in You with all my heart. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Blessings ♡ Grace
