Consider how I love Your precepts; Revive me, O LORD, according to Your lovingkindness.
Psalm 119:159
Psalm 119 is a very personal prayer between an individual and God. Sometimes the fire becomes so intense, and the spirit is so low, that almost all hope is gone. The light in the eyes has almost flickered out. It is then that a person will truly turn, heart and soul, to the Lord. Yet it doesn't need to be that way. God is training His servant to turn to Him first, not last. When that servant of God runs to God at every turn in life, then personal spiritual revival characterizes that life. It is life on the highest plane, as Ruth Paxson calls it. It is living a Spirit-filled, extraordinary life in the strength of God. Worries need not drag one to the pit. Circumstances need not plunge a soul into despair. Pleasures need not pull a heart away from God. How is this possible? Only as one walks intimately with the Savior, eyes fixed on Him. That is what God is working in you, even now. He is training you for His highest purposes. Cry out to Him now: Revive my heart, O Lord!
