I have spent a lot of time out in the desert in early mornings. I love being outside with my camera walking and talking with the Lord. And one thing I’ve noticed is how bright and beautiful the moon is in the early mornings. So I have been capturing all kinds of images of the moon.
The image I’m sharing today shows the distant moon framed with a tree right in front of me. I like this because it reminds me to look beyond the here and now all the way to God’s eternal perspective in His Word. God uses the promises in His Word to give me hope when things in the world seem to be falling apart.
I love Paul’s words in Ephesians 1:18 where he says …
I pray also that you will have greater understanding in your heart so you will know the hope to which he has called us and that you will know how rich and glorious are the blessings God has promised his holy people.
Ephesians 1:18 NCV
We need to know hope every day of our lives. That word “know” is eido and means to see in such a way that you understand. Sometimes it is even translated “see” instead of “know.” I love that because it means we need to learn how to see. God helps us see through the power of His Spirit so that we will know and understand.
I created this myPhotoWalk — Photo Artistry image to remind us all to look past the things of this world all the way to God and His magnificent promises so that we will have hope.
After processing the image in Adobe Photoshop, I added a Georgia O’Keefe painting filter in Topaz Software to give it a painterly look. Then I added the Helvetica Neue words and Scripture to remind us always to “Know Hope.”
Dear Lord, open our eyes today to know the hope of Your calling. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
