There is the most beautiful garden waiting for you. It is filled with the beauty of the Rose of Sharon, the lily of the valleys, and a luscious apple tree, poetically described in the Song of Solomon 2:1-3 …

  • I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.
  • As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters.
  • Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest, So is my beloved.

The Lord Jesus is that garden and He invites you to draw near and enter in —

Then Jesus said, "Come to Me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest."

Matthew 11:28 NLT

There is a beautiful garden on the coast of Southern California that I love so much. And one of the best views is looking through the gate that leads to that garden. It's inviting and your heart can't help but feel joy knowing the beauty and peace that awaits when you enter in.

And so it is with Jesus. He bids you to draw near to Him and enter into an intimate, vibrant relationship with Him. The communion you experience is unparalleled. And He is just who you need to be with especially when times are tough and you feel like just giving up.

Don't give up dear friend. Instead, go through the gate and on into the garden. Spend time with Jesus. He will be the best time you've ever had.

So today, take some time to draw near to Jesus. Gather up your Bible, The Quiet Time Journal, and some devotional reading. Find a quiet place and pour out your heart to Him. Enjoy the beauty and fragrance of the Son of God, the Savior, and King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Dear Lord, thank You for Your invitation to intimate communion, peace, and rest. In Jesus' name, Amen.
