Have you discovered the wonder and beauty of the early morning? It's a new day. The sun is just shining its light across the landscape.
And so it is with you.
The Son of God is shining His light for all to see.
After all, Jesus is the light of the world.
In the early morning, you have a new opportunity to draw near to God and experience the very light of life (John 8:12).
Whether yesterday was easy or difficult, filled with exuberant joy or a deep sadness, this new morning can bring a moment where you sit with the Lord and receive what He has for you.
He promises that when you draw near to Him, He will draw near to you (James 4:8).
Jesus knew the value of the early morning —
Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.
Mark 1:35 NIV
Jesus made the early morning a special occasion and you can too.
In the early mornings I love to sit with the Lord and an open Bible and hear Him speak. I pour out my heart to Him. And I learn from Him. He teaches me His ways. He asks for me to lean in and surrender. And He blesses with His extravagant love and compassion.
Then, after such a time, I often grab my camera and go to a special place where I watch my Lord paint the sky in new ways with the light of the sun through wispy clouds. I stand in awe as I see again His great power and glory.
So dear friend, take the early morning and spend some time with your Lord. He is waiting even now.
Lord, thank You for the early morning and the gift of a new day. Teach me your ways and lead me in the truth of Your Word. In Jesus' name, Amen.
