Have you learned to look through the here and now all the way to eternity? I love capturing silhouettes in photography especially when the sun is rising. Sunrises provide the perfect backdrop for trees and other potential foliage for silhouettes. And when you see a silhouette in nature, your eye is always drawn past it to the beautiful background.
I was driving down the road in my own neighborhood in Palm Desert, CA, and I came upon this wonderful opportunity to capture the trees with a magnificent sunrise in the background.
As I look at this idyllic scene, I can't help but think about how the Lord encourages us to look past the world and present things to heaven and eternity. He says, "Think about the things of heaven, not the things of the earth" (Colossians 3:2 NLT).
I processed this image in Adobe Photoshop and then I added a Van Gogh Topaz Impression filter to give it an ethereal, painterly appearance. Then, I added the inspirational text in a stylish Helvetica Neue font.
And the take home message from this Photo Artistry? When you are pressed down with earthly things, be encouraged to look past them to eternity and think on heavenly things that will last forever.
Dear Lord, help us to look past the here and now all the way to eternity. In Jesus' name, Amen.
