One day I was walking with a friend in one of my favorite neighborhoods in Newport Beach, CA. As we walked and talked, I suddenly saw it in my mind — a beautiful image of a path with trees on one side and a wall covered with beautiful white roses.
Sometimes images just seem to compose themselves right before my eyes, and this was one of those times. I saw the photograph in my mind's eye before I ever lifted my Fujinon XT-2 mirrorless camera to capture the image.
When I brought the image into my computer and processed it in Photoshop, I knew right away I wanted to create a myPhotoWalk Photo Artistry image. The pathway was what captured my interest because it immediately reminded me of God's guidance. Though you can't see what's around the corner, even in life, you can count on the fact that God knows what's next and we can rely on Him to guide us.
God makes this wonderful promise about His guidance, "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you" (Psalm 32:8 NIV).
I first processed the image in Alien Skin Exposure X3, then brought it into Photoshop. I added a Topaz Impression Cezanne filter to give it a painterly impressionism texture. Then, I added the verse and inspirational word "guidance" in Helvetica Neue font. Finally, I darkened the edges with the burn tool in Photoshop to draw attention to the path.
So if you are in need of guidance today, remember the image of this path and the promise in Psalm 32:8 that God will show you the way.
Lord, Thank You for Your promise to lead and guide me today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
