The desert is a beautiful place, especially in early morning. And I have found it easier to hear God and talk with Him in the desert. It's quiet there. There is peace and joy in the solitude and silence of the desert as I watch God paint the sky with color.
God uses the desert times in our life to draw us close to Himself.

I have the privilege of living in Palm Desert, CA in the scenic Coachella Valley of California near the resort city of Palm Springs. This area of the Mojave Desert is an arid rain–shadow desert and the driest desert in North America. It is located in the southwestern United States, primarily within southeastern California and southern Nevada, and it occupies a total of 47,877 square miles.
I often seek out myPhotoWalks in my desert with cameras and equipment to focus on the beauty of the Lord as the sun rises. The highlight is God casting an orange and pink glow across the desert floor. I love talking with God and thinking about His promises in His Word. Those promises warm my heart as I think about the words.
If we need to experience God's tender compassion, then perhaps the best place is in the desert. Find your desert place — the seashore, the mountains, your backyard?
So dear friend, never be afraid of the desert, if God should lead you there. When you find yourself in a desert experience, you can know that God is going to speak tenderly to you there. He promises.
Dear Lord, thank You for speaking tenderly to us in the desert. In Jesus' name, Amen.
