Such confidence we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God.

In every generation God raises up men and women who dare to do great and mighty things in His name. How are they able to accomplish so much in their own lifetime? They are reliant on the Holy Spirit for strength, comfort, joy, sense of purpose endurance—in short, they know that in and of themselves, they are weak, but filled with the Holy Spirit, they can do whatever He leads them to accomplish in service…the early church grew and spread as the Lord Jesus continued His work through the power of the Holy Spirit in the lives of simple men and women. And that is what He can and will do through you and others who rely on His power and strength.
